FAQs

  • WHY ARE EYE EXAMINATIONS IMPORTANT?

Thorough eye examinations are essential for detecting any eye problems in their early stages, regardless of someone’s age or physical health. Even if you have 20/20 vision, an eye exam from Eyedeal Family Eye Care can assess your eye’s overall health.

  • WHAT HAPPENS DURING AN EYE EXAM?

During a thorough eye exam, our eye doctor will not only determine if you need glasses, but we’ll also check your eyes for common eye disorders, analyze how your eyes perform together, and evaluate your eyes’ overall health.

  • WHAT BRANDS OF GLASSES DO YOU CARRY?

Eyedeal Family Eye Care only carries high-quality brands such as Police, Burberry, TC Charton, Ray-Ban, Eddie Bauer, and others to ensure that you get the quality and style you deserve.

  • what is legal blindness?

If someone is considered legally blind, then their best-corrected central acuity is less than 20/200. Even if someone is legally blind, they may still be able to see. To have your eyes examined, please schedule an appointment with us at (770) 932-1670.

  • what kind of contact lenses do you carry?

We stock nearly every brand of contact lenses, so we’re sure to have what you’re looking for! Myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism can all be treated using specialist lenses.

  • can I wear contacts while i sleep?

We do not recommend sleeping with contact lenses on a regular or long-term basis. While you’re asleep, your eye is a dark, cozy place. Bacteria flourish in dark, warm environments. There are FDA-approved contact lenses for sleeping, but they must be removed and thoroughly cleaned once a week.

  • when should my child's eyes be examined?

Vision is usually tested as part of a child’s medical evaluation. If there is any indication of an eye issue, they may refer the youngster to an ophthalmologist.

  • when should an adult's eyes be examined?

Adult eye exams should be performed on a regular basis. Young adults between the ages of 18 and 39 should be checked every 3 to 5 years. Seniors should have their eyes checked every 1 to 2 years, while older adults should have their eyes checked every 2 to 4 years.

  • what age can someone start wearing contact lenses?

Typically children start using contacts at the age of 12 or 13. Daily or 1-Day lenses are easier for children and teens because they require zero maintenance and are a safer option for younger wearers.

  • what are scleral lenses?

Your vision problems may be remedied with a scleral lens, as these specialty lenses help treat eye disorders. Scleral lenses are worn by patients who have eye disorders or injuries to protect the surface of their eyes.

  • what is glaucoma?

People who have glaucoma have elevated intraocular pressure in their eyes. Glaucoma is a disease that slowly robs a sufferer of their peripheral vision without them even realizing it.
